SKIPTON'S Dyneley House Surgery held a successful health and well being day.

The aim of the day - held in conjunction with the patient participation group - was to provide information and advice to patients and members of the public on how to lead a healthier and more active life.

Emma Taylor, the health promotion officer at Dyneley House and Fisher Medical Centre, gave advice on activities which have been developed for the benefit of patients as well as information on healthy food and nutrition – including the provision of smoothies and fruit kebabs.

Patients and visitors could also access support from a range of associated specialists including advice on managing alcohol use, quitting smoking and accessing support services from the voluntary sector.

Staff from the Fitness Centre at Craven Pool provided information about ‘exercise on prescription’.

Barry Rogers, secretary of the Dyneley House Surgery Patient Participation Group, said: "We are very pleased to be involved in this event and enjoy working with the surgery to develop services and activities that will benefit patients."

Antony Radley, practice manager, added: “The practice team at Dyneley House Surgery are committed to supporting patients to live healthier lives and we have planned a programme of events for patients so that we can work in partnership to manage their conditions most effectively.

"The health and well being day is a great example of how we can add value to help our patients."
