STUDENTS with an eye on the future could learn essential skills from business and industry.
Employers from the Army to cloud computing specialist Virtual DCS are visiting The Skipton Academy in coming weeks to work with year ten students on everything from CV writing to being aware of their online footprint.
Assistant principal Ian Price said: "It's all about preparing the students for work-life and post 16. Over the weeks they will take part in workshops given by various employers on different aspects of being ready for the world of work."
The students will complete a programme of study, building a portfolio and will ultimately have the chance to join pupils from other schools completing the same project in a competition.
Principal Wendy Hamilton said: "We are delighted to give our students the opportunity to be involved in the Building My Skills programme with its invaluable work around skills for getting into the workplace and valuable lessons around safeguarding such as awareness of their online profiles."
