THE Met Office has extended its yellow warning for snow and ice until midday tomorrow.

It says sleet and snow showers will continue overnight into Monday.

Accumulations of up to two centimetres of snow are likely in places at low levels, but there could be two to five centimetres of snow over hills and where showers become aligned in bands in the northeasterly flow.

Ice will be an additional hazard overnight, particularly after showers.

"Please be aware of the potential for difficult travelling conditions," it adds.
