TWO pupils from West Craven High School in Barnoldswick raised nearly £600 for Pendleside Hospice.

Students Jorden Bancroft and Madison Clifton decided to collect funds for the hospice after the mother of their best friend, Julie, was diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer in November 2015 and was given only six to nine months to live.

Jorden and Madison wanted to make a difference and started fundraising for local cancer charity Pendleside Hospice, where Julie received treatment.

The girls arranged a variety of fundraising activities in school, including a non-uniform day, bake sale and a Valentine's-themed photo booth.

Both girls were thrilled with the amount they raised and were proud to present a cheque for £592 to Vikki Bassek, from Pendleside Hospice.

Madison and Jorden thanked their fellow students and staff for helping raise the money.
