THEMES for this year's Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival have been announced.

It is Star Wars for the children and Royalty for adults.

The popular festival will take place from August 13 to 21, raising much-needed funds for Kettlewell Primary School, Kettlewell Village Hall and St Mary’s Church.

2015 was a record-breaking year, and some of the funds were used to pay for essential repairs to the village playground, which is always popular with families during the festival.

Launched more than 20 years ago, Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival is one of the original, and best, in Britain, with hundreds of scarecrows to spot in every corner of the village. Trail sheets cost just £1 and car parking is £3.

An array of homemade cakes and refreshments will be available at the village hall, with proceeds making a huge contribution to the fundraising effort.
