A CHARITY Cycle Sportive will take place through the Yorkshire Dales landscape on May 14.

The event has been organised by Kelda, the parent company of Yorkshire Water, and will offer two routes – one of 50 miles and the other of 80 miles.

It will be based at the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club at Grimwith Reservoir near Hebden.

Both rides will be professionally timed on a fully signed and marshalled course, with feed stations, event photography and vehicle safety support. All participants will get a hot meal free of charge after the ride and there will be the opportunity for participants, family and friends to try sailing and windsurfing, courtesy of the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club, as well as enjoying the walks around Grimwith reservoir.

The event is in support of WaterAid, with all proceeds going directly to improve access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene services for those in need.
