JULIA Mulligan has won a second term as North Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
In the first stage count, Mrs Mulligan (Cons) won 53,078 votes, Stephen Howley (Lab), 34,351; Mike Pannett (Ind), 30,984, and James Blanchard (Lib Dem) 13, 856.
In Craven, Julia Mulligan received 5,601 votes, Stephen Howley, 3,743; Mike Pannett, 3,462, and James Blanchard, 1,344.
Because no candidate won more than 50 per cent of the vote, a count of second choice votes was undertaken.
The turnout for the election was 135,642 (22.47 per cent) and the highest percentage of residents to vote was Craven with a turnout of 33.98 per cent.
