THE year's West Craven High School production saw pupils and staff at the Barnoldswick school put on a memorable production of the Wizard of Oz.

One of Dorothy's opening lines, "We know we are not in Barlick anymore!", delivered confidently by leading lady Alishia Bennett, saw the raging cyclone send her to Oz.

The scenic designs, by Hannah Whittle and pupils, dazzled spectators.

The show, produced and directed by Danielle Wilcock and Andy Sabin, strayed a little way from the familiar path with a few unexpected twists and turns, but was received with rapturous applause.

The crowd-pleasing trio of Darcy Smith, Mollie Jesson and ICT teacher Gary Curson as the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion respectively, were well-suited to their roles and Caitlin Scott put on a truly green performance as the Wicked Witch of the West whilst her rival, the Good Witch, adorned with glitter galore, was beautifully played by history teacher, Lianne Abram.

The ensemble put in a full night’s work playing Munchkins, Ozians and the Witch’s guards.
