A GRAND Day Out was staged in Silsden Park at the weekend.

Saturday's well-attended event, organised as part of Silsden's Grand deParty, featured a huge range of attractions.

There was a playing fields bowling club open day, miniature train rides, a fun dog show, Punch and Judy, entertainment from Silsden Town Band and Silsden Singers, a bike course, demonstrations by junior bike trials champion Josh McParland and running races.

The next Grand deParty event is the Silsden Community Showcase and craft fair on Saturday.

It is being held across four venues – the town hall and three churches – from 10am to 4pm. The event will include a duck race at noon.

Anyone still to provide a finished square for the Silsden community quilt is asked to take it to St James' Church on Saturday morning and decorated Eiffel Towers should be taken to the Methodist Church.

Organisers of the park event are staging a meeting for anyone interested in joining a proposed Friends of Silsden Park group.

The meeting is at St James' Church Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
