A GREAT time is promised in Wigglesworth on Saturday when The Plough Inn hosts its first Beer Festival and Fun Day - with proceeds going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The event will feature beers from around the world - and traditional games such as hook-a-duck, lucky dip, tombola and 'name the teddy', plus, for those of a more athletic disposition, tractor tyre throwing!
Also featured is the Wigglesworth Bake-Off, where cakes can be entered into the competition and will be voted on by the public throughout the day. And the the event also features a barbecue, the 'potato factory' and Indian cuisine from Spice of Life.
There will also be a bouncy castle, an animal petting and feeding area, face painting and a variety of stalls.
And the day will be rounded off from late afternoon by performances from musical tribute acts to Elton John, Meat Loaf and the Legends of Rock.
Organiser Gemma Fish, who is co-owner and manager of The Plough, said: "We wanted an event that would celebrate this lovely community and bring all the local villages together. We wanted to raise cash for the air ambulance because its work is so important to the Dales. Anyone who wants be involved in the Bake Off should give me a call and the bring along your baked items on the day."
