GRASSINGTON villagers pulled out all the stops for the coronation of King Charles III by re-creating a photograph taken in 1902 for the coronation of King Edward VII.
There was a fantastic turnout at Grassington's Big Coronation Lunch, hosted by the Grassington Devonshire Institute. Hundreds of villagers of all ages turned out to enjoy food together in the main street which was closed off to traffic for the celebrations.
The proclamation was delivered by Grassington's very own town crier, Bob Kendall, outside the town hall prior to the picnic as part of the historic occasion.
And, in a throw back to the past, villagers recreated the photograph of the 1902 coronation of Edward VII, but instead of the horse powered carriage, the children were treated to a shiny red Massey Ferguson tractor supplied by Walmsley Agriculture.
There were also musicians, like in the 1902 photograph, and on the outside of the town hall, bunting with 'God Save the King'.
