SKIPTON'S Low Carb group is looking forward to a visit in the new year by biochemical engineer and speaker Ivor Cummins on the causes of modern chronic diseases and what is meant by a 'healthy diet' .
Mr Cummins, will present talks on 'Our Disastrous Diet' and what to do about it at events at The Elsworth Mill and at Hotel Rendezvous.
Verner Wheelock, of Low Carb Skipton, a voluntary group which concentrates on the benefits of a low carbohydrate diet, said: "Ivor is recognised as a world authority on nutrition and health. He has developed close working relationships with people all over the world. His website has an amazing number of detailed interviews with many of the leading personalities in the field, which means he has a unique understanding of “Healthy Eating”.
"We are privileged that he will be visiting Skipton. His talks will be of great interest to all those who wish to discover what is a genuinely 'healthy diet' for themselves and their families."
On the evening of Friday, January 26 Mr Cummins will be at The Elsworth Mill when he will give a talk on 'what you really need to know about healthy eating' and on January 27 he will speak at a meeting at Hotel Rendezvous, followed by a meal and discussion.
