LAUREN Hanson and Ethan Camsey were individual winners for Skipton Swimming Club in the final Airedale and Wharfedale gala of the year at Aireborough Pool. Guiseley

Camsey won the boys 13/14 years four lengths breaststroke in 1.28.02 which was more than a second faster than his heat time.

Michael Bowers was fourth in the same vent in 1.33.93 while Lewie Fitton made the final but was disqualified.

Hanson shone in the girls 15 and over four-lengths butterfly event. She set a new record time of 1.11.58 in the heats and bettered it in the final with an impressive 1.10.64.

There was a second triumph for Hanson when she teamed up with Lucy Ward, Millie Sharp and Ellie Phillip to win the ladies open 4 x 2 freestyle relay.

They qualified second fastest in 2.04.05 and In the final they produced an impressive performance to lead the field home in 2.01.95.

The girls 13/14 year 4 x 2 medley team were also winners. Mia Fitton, Kat Rose, Izzy Ward and Abi Newton took first place with a fine time of 2.38.39.

Ella Bardgett showed good form once again as she came second in the girls 9/10 years 4 x 1 individual medley with a time of 1.30.88. Her victory hopes were hit when she glided into the wall on her back to breaststroke turn and lost time.

Fenn Curran was the only one of the six Skipton swimmers in the boys 9/10 years 4 x 1 individual medley to make the final. He clocked 1.33.15 which was a big improvement on his heat time of 1.36.64.

Megan Baines, competing in her first two-length backstroke event, was the only one of the six Skipton entrants to make the final in the girls 11/12 years event. She produced a battling swim to take fifth place in 40.81.

Luke Midgley and Joel Phillip were fourth and fifth respectively in the boys 11/12 years two lengths backstroke with times of 36.31 and 36.69.

Abi Newton took sixth place with a time of 1.43.16 in the girls 13/14 four ETHAN Camsey and Lauren Hanson were Skipton Swimming Club’s individual lengths breaststroke.

The ladies open two length freestyle saw Lauren Hanson come fourth in 29.81 and Ellie Phillip, sixth in 32.01.

None of the six Skipton swimmers made the final of the open two length freestyle but their team of Joel Phillip, Luke Midgley, Michael Borrows and Ethan Camsey was fifth in the relay.

Skipton were fourth on the night and fifth in the overall points for 2014.
