J Moorhouse top-scored with 67, while S Nadeem took 2-33 for Skipton.

Horsforth’s hero was Ollie Hardaker who smashed 19 fours and eight sixes in racing to 177 in 139 balls. Set to chase 257-8, Grenn Lane collapsed against Michael Lambert (4-21) and Mahir Ali (3-19) and were bowled out for 78.

JON Best bowed out in style as Steeton secured their Aire-Wharfe League Division One status.

In his last ever match for the Summerhill Lane side before moving to Jersey, he smashed 14 boundaries in a 63-ball 70 against Beckwithshaw.

Although his side lost by 57 runs to the title contenders, the six bonus points they gained were enough to ensure Division One cricket next season.

Chasing 250-7, Steeton made a solid start with Andrew Foulds (26) and John Akrigg (43) putting on 54 for the first wicket. Best kept the fight going but was last man out after sharing a 43-run tenth-wicket stand with Josh Gill (11no), as the visitors were all out for 193.

Harden remain in trouble in Division Two after falling eight runs short of victory at Colton. Paul Quinlan (4-16) and Michael O’Flaherty helped dismiss the home side for 113 but the Leeds outfit hit back to bowl the visitors out for 106.

Josh Dracup (76) led Menston’s successful run chase of Upper Wharfedale’s 190 target in Division Three.

Calverley inflicted the latest heavy defeat on bottom Division Three side Silsden. Julian Thornhill (49) set the platform but it was a sparkling 118no in 68 balls from Jatinder Singh that caught the eye in Calverley’s 254-4dec. Singh even weighed in with a couple of cheap wickets and with Tom Simpson taking 5-23, Silsden crashed out for 66.

Steeton II were in the runs at home to Horsforth II as Chris Luxton hit 120 in their 299-8.
