SILSDEN Whitestar have taken the early advantage in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division.

After two matches and two wins, they head top-flight new boys Sporting Keighley on goal difference

Whitestar opened up with a 5-1 home triumph over Skipton LMS, man of the match James Wilson (3) and Sam Stanfield (2) being their marksmen with Ian Craven replying, and they then won 4-0 at Cross Hills, with another Stanfield brace being added to by Wilson and Zac Conway.

Cross Hills also fell 3-2 at home to Grassington United, goals from man of the match Rob Matthews and Scott Newton not quite being enough to overturn strikes by Sean Radford, Jack Schindler and substitute Jan Ozdoba.

Rolls, like Grassington, had only played one match in the first six days, but sit third after a 5-0 victory over cellar dwellers Wilsden Athletic, Gareth Hargreaves (2) and Paul Oldroyd getting the bulk of their goals.

LMS followed up that heavy defeat at Whitestar with a 4-2 triumph at Earby Town, Craven, Daniel Hunt, Fred Midgley and Oliver Peacock being the railwaymen's marksmen as they rose to sixth.

There seems to be no stopping Division Two champions Carleton in Division One.

After two matches, they have scored 14 goals and conceded only one, but 11 of those have come in the second half, suggesting that pre-season fitness work has been a priority.

Firstly, hosts Bradley were put to the sword 8-0 before visitors Chatburn were trounced 6-1, Ashley Purnell (3), substitute Jake Johnston (2), Jamie Fryers, man of the match Jamie Poulter and Ben Teal netting against Bradley, with Teal (4), Gareth Lord and Purnell being on target against Chatburn.

Rolls Reserves have also won two out of two, winning 1-0 at Cowling courtesy of Gareth Hargreaves, and 3-2 at Broomhill thanks to Matthew Blackwell (2) and gong winner Adam Bancroft.

Skipton Town are fourth after a 2-2 draw at third-placed AFC Colne, Sam Kimberley bagging a brace.
