TALENTED teenage runner Joe Hudson struck gold on his international debut.
He was part of the victorious England under-17 A team and collected a bronze medal for finishing third in the punishing event at Keswick.
The Skipton Academy student was joined in the England line-up by Ermysted's Tom Barrett, from Gargrave, who was 11th overall while running for England's B string.
The competition gives young hill runners from across the home nations and Ireland the chance to compete in a lung-busting uphill only race to the top of Skiddaw Little Man.
England won the overall event, which featured men's and women's races at under-17 and under-20 level, by one point.
